When people hear the word “humility”, they usually think of a person who is passive. And many times humble people are seen as being weak. But the truth of the matter is, spiritually humble people are very powerful. I will explain why.
First of all, spiritually humble people know where they stand amidst the trials and tribulations of the world. Spiritually humble people know that they are valuable in God’s sight. They know that they are loved and accepted despite being imperfect. They bloom where they’re planted and make the most of their situation. Spiritually humble people are influenced by and living in grace!
Humble people also understand that nothing is perfect. They are willing to take both the good and the bad in life and others around them without being judgemental. They know that since they are living under the dispensation of grace, so is everyone and everything around them. They understand that each one of us is needed to paint the picture of love and light in the world even though we are all imperfect and have different strengths and weaknesses.
Humble people also live in hope that things will be made whole again one day. Spiritually speaking, humble people know that when they pray and seek help from heaven, they receive it. They know that not only does our Father help in our present world and circumstance, but also in heaven where we will be made whole and eternally happy. This is important because humble people live in that hope, knowing it will not be cut off. Their trials and tribulations will bring them love and light on the other side from the wisdom they gain from their experiences.
It is much easier to trust when you are spiritually humble. You don’t feel alone. You know that you are protected and guided by Spirit and love. Situations in the world cause us to become jaded. But if we trust our Creator to work all things for good, we know that one day every experience will pay off by giving us greater perspective, understanding and compassion. These are all elements that bring more beauty and love to not only ourselves but others around us and the world we live in.
Humility is knowing that all will work out in the end. Humility is acceptance, peace and love-all critical elements to living and maturing gracefully on this testing ground known as earth!
